Zina King
I’m a coach, consultant, designer & facilitator and the founder of The Next Mile—where I help leaders build thriving teams, resilient cultures, and workplaces rooted in purpose.
I believe real progress happens when people feel seen, valued, and supported. My work lives at the intersection of leadership and organizational health — and everything I do is grounded in clarity, strategy, and transformation.

Hi, I'm

What I see in People and Organizations
Like diamonds, people and organizations don’t always shine at first glance—it takes skill, attention, and care to bring out their full brilliance.
That’s what I do – uncover potential and help leaders and teams clear the path so they can move forward with confidence.
The Professional
Certified Coach, Consultant, and Workshop & Experience Designer and Facilitator
About my work
With over 20 years of experience working with leaders and teams across industries, I help organizations strengthen culture, improve engagement, and lead change with clarity and authenticity.
My approach is always personal—I take time to get to know each client deeply so that every engagement feels intentional, practical, and rooted in real-world needs. I’ve worked at organizations like Bridgewater Associates, Morgan Stanley, Mastercard, and Fordham University, and no two organizations have looked the same.

I started my career as a research analyst in marketing, but found my true passion on the people side of business – HR, inclusion & belonging, and leadership development. Along the way, I’ve worked across roles, countries, and cultures—gathering the tools and insights I now bring into every room I enter.
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all coaching, consulting, or facilitation. I believe in listening first, tailoring solutions, and helping people unlock the clarity, structure, and action they need to move forward.

When I’m not partnering with clients, you’ll find me cycling the roads of Fairfield County, hiking local trails, soaking in the arts, or asking myself, “What if you…”a reminder that possibility is always within reach.

Where it all began
I’m the granddaughter of a traditional healer. My grandmother, Janie, was known across the island of St. Lucia as someone people turned to when they needed healing. Her approach was rooted in observation, inquiry, and deep listening. She’d spend hours with clients, watching how they moved, listening closely to what they said—and what they didn’t. Then she would craft personalized remedies to help them move forward.
For a long time, I didn’t see the connection between her work and mine. But over time, I realized how deeply her philosophy informs my own. Whether I’m working with a team or an individual, my process is the same: listen deeply, observe fully, and co-design a path forward that’s both thoughtful and transformative.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
I care deeply about giving back. I volunteer with students and first-generation professionals—like myself—to help them explore career paths, build confidence, and grow into their leadership. I also speak at schools and universities, leading workshops and experiences that focus on personal development, career growth, and leadership.
